Project Description
THE HUMANITAS SECONDARY SCHOOL
We are now seeking funding to complete the fit-out of a secondary school in Ayensuako – to continue to meet the educational needs of the community. Humanitas has already secured the funding required to purchase the land and cover the cost of the build, and we are now actively raising funds to equip the school with the furniture, computers, sports equipment and learning resources that we need. The school will have the capacity to teach 210 students and will house six large classrooms, a library building and a sports ground. As with all of the Humanitas capital projects, all of the building and trade work is being undertaken by local tradesmen, supporting economic investment in the local community.
We are excited by the potential that we have to make a positive and indelible impact on the lives of the families living in Ayensuako and the surrounding villages. With a solid education behind them, the pupils that attend the Humanitas Secondary School will have life chances that their elders could not access. The students will be equipped with the qualifications and skills to seek employment out of the village and bring investment in. We want to play our part in assisting the community to lift themselves out of poverty and to enjoy a life that is about thriving as well as surviving.
